The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (abbreviated IITB or IIT Bombay) is a public engineering institution located in Powai, Mumbai, India. It is the second-oldest institute of the Indian Institutes of Technology system.

Internationally, IIT Bombay was ranked 179 in the QS World University Rankings for 2018. It was also ranked 35 in Asia and 13 among BRICS nations in 2016 by the same institute. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings ranked it 351-400 globally 42 in ASIA  and 26 among BRICS & Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017.
